Do you need to move in Mallorca but your building has no lift? Find out how we handle this type of move quickly, safely and without damaging your furniture.
The challenge of buildings without a lift
It's common in old towns like central Palma, Sóller or Pollença: buildings with narrow staircases, no lift or awkward access. In these cases, planning ahead makes all the difference between a fast move and one full of hold-ups.
How we handle it
- Prior visit or consultation: we assess the access, staircase width and the bulkiest furniture before moving day.
- Dismantling large pieces: wardrobes, sofas and beds are dismantled when needed so they can be carried up or down safely.
- Extra staff: on upper floors without a lift we add extra operators to speed up loading and cut down working time.
- Protective materials: blankets and corner guards to protect walls, banisters and door frames while going up or down.
- Pulleys or crane use when needed: for very large furniture that won't fit down the stairs, we assess alternative access via window or balcony where the building allows it.
Tips if your move has no lift
- Let us know the number of floors and whether there's a lift when requesting a quote
- Prioritise lightening heavy boxes: spread books and dense items across several smaller boxes
- Check that your largest piece of furniture will actually fit through the stairwell before the big day
