3 to 4 weeks before

  • Make an inventory of what you're taking and what you'll donate or throw away
  • Get a quote from the removal company with an approximate date
  • Reserve packing materials: boxes, film, bubble wrap and tape
  • If you have large furniture, confirm whether it will need dismantling

The week before

  • Start packing what you use least: books, decorations, seasonal clothing
  • Label each box with its destination room and contents
  • Set aside an "essentials box" with what you'll need on your first day in the new home
  • Confirm timing, access and lift availability with the transport company

Moving day

  • Have your boxes closed and accessible before the team arrives
  • Point out which furniture needs extra care (fragile items, antiques)
  • Check that nothing is left in cupboards, drawers or the storage room
  • Do one last walk-through of the property before locking the door

Arriving at your new home
